Write A Poem, Plant A Tree
Created by Red Room Poetry, in partnership with Wollongong City Council, POEM FOREST invites students and teachers to use their words to make positive climate action.
For every nature poem received, a tree is planted to help heal habitats and create a POEM FOREST for future generations. Since 2021, over 17,100 poem trees have been planted.
After reading thousands of nature poems spanning the pitter-patter of rain, love letters to favourite trees, and gifts from gentle sea otters, Red Room Poetry have announced their 2024 POEM FOREST Prize Shortlist, a list that includes Jake from Forest Lodge Public School, who joined 2SER Breakfast to chat about his burgeoning poetic career and to regale us with his work.
