World Suicide Prevention Day 2020 in a COVID Reality

COVID-19 isn’t the only invisible illness that’s affecting the world. Mental health issues are on the rise as a result of increased isolation from social distancing and lockdown measures necessary to curb the coronavirus. It’s always important to highlight issues that might get lost in the white noise of the news headlines. This Thursday is World Suicide Prevention Day. It’s also ‘R U OK’ day, a local initiative to spread awareness about the stigma of suicide, and how to prevent it. Ina Mullin, National Manager of Communications and Public Affairs at Lifeline Australia, was with Drive to shed some light on the work Lifeline does.
