The Yemen Civil War – Lives Lost, No Progress
September 2014 saw the beginning of a civil war in Yemen with Houthi rebels attempting to overthrow the Hadi government. Saudi Arabia has deployed troops and used a significant amount of resources to back the Hadi government but no progress has been made. In what is the Arab world’s poorest nation, how does the civil conflict impact civilians and how does the UN intend to help resolve the conflict? Dr Ben Rich, a Lecturer in International Relations and Security Studies at Curtin University joined us on the Daily to answer our questions.
