This week for Tuesday Book Club, Andrew Pople chatted with author, and Associate Professor of History at La Trobe University Dr Clare Wright about her book “You Daughters of Freedom”. An exploration of Australians at the turn of the century, the book delves into how Australians led democratic practice around the world when they gave white women full political equality. Clare talked to Andrew about why suffrage wasn’t inevitable and how Australia proved itself on on the world stage at the Battle of Gallipoli.
