Young Australian Voters in 2019 Federal Election

The Federal Election is fast approaching, and this year is particularly significant with the record number of young voters enrolled to vote.

The Australian Electoral Commission released in late April that this election had the highest enrollment rate in Australian history at 96.8% with a record rate of  88.8% of young Australians enrolled.

As we currently critique what this will mean for the election results and the election campaign, today we are taking a look at a non-partisan organisation Yvote that are working to ensure young voters are heard and represented.

We were joined by the director of Yvote, Skye Riggs to discuss Yvote and their ‘Emerging Civic Leaders’ program.
