40th Birthday Reunion Broadcast
Happy Birthday to us!!
Today 2SER celebrates 40 years since the switch was flicked and 2SER began its journey as one of the most important independent voices in Sydney media.
We were lucky enough this morning to be visited by a bunch of 2SER alumni – well known faces, household names and behind the scenes legends who have helped contribute to what makes 2SER a unique voice in the Sydney and Australian media landscape.
Guests included Tanya Plibersek (Deputy Opposition Leader), Keith Jackson (Founding Manager of 2SER), Robbie Buck (ABC Sydney/Triple J), Eleanor Hall (ABC radio host), Anna Vidot (ABC Radio Canberra) Ian Rogerson (2CH), Richard Kingsmill (ABC/Triple J), Luke Dearnley (Freaky Loops presenter and organiser), Mitch Byatt (Southern Cross Austereo), Mike Williams (ABC podcaster) and more.
Robbie Buck summed it up nicely:
“A healthy media landscape is a broad media landscape and it is essential to have independent voices within that landscape and 2SER, for 40 years, has been an independent voice, and it doesn’t matter where you end up, you know how important that voice is.”
