This Day in History, March 5th
Dogearing the history books for March 5th, today Roman Emperor Julian left Antioch with an army of 90,000 to attack the Sasanian Empire, a decision that would lead to his death and his army’s utter humiliation. Five Americans including former slave Crispus Attucks were fatally shot by British troops in an event that would help lead to the American Revolutionary war, and the ALP with Bob Hawke as leader won one of the biggest parliamentary majorities in Australian political history. Plus birthdays for “Tiger King” Joe Exotic, Fifi Box, Steve Prestwich, Joey Image, and Mark E. Smith of the Fall.
