Amplifying Diverse Voices Through Food
Like many of our institutions, media in Australia has always been a white dominated space. Food media is no different, even with the vast multiculturalism and diversity found across our culinary landscape. One person trying to change that is Melbourne-based writer Rushani Epa – who last year began a publication called Colournary that celebrates and amplifies the voices of First Nations, Black and People of Colour through the lens of food and culture. Thursday Daily producer Stef Posthuma caught up with Rushani for a chat about her publication, and what it hopes to bring to the culture of food media.
