Design Piracy
They say «Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery». However, if you’re a creator whose art has been stolen, you would think differently. Recently, there have been several cases where prominent clothes companies and designers were blamed of stealing the designs. For example, a Polish fashion retailer Sugarpills was accused by Australian artist Bei Badgirl of stealing one of her sticker designs and putting it on a sweater. Another case is the Dangerfield label who have allegedly been selling clothes with copyrighted works on it without permission.
Olaf Kretzschmar from IP Service International joined us today to discuss the issue of design piracy and copyright.
