Currently in its 45th year of operation, Griffin Theatre Company is the only theatre company in the country exclusively devoted to the development and staging of new Australian writing.

Located in the historic SBW Stables Theatre, nestled in the heart of Kings Cross, the premises are currently undergoing redevelopment, creating a brand new permanent home for Australian playwriting. However, Griffin Theatre Company aren’t letting the fact that their home theatre is out of action stop them from putting on new shows.

Mununjali poet Ellen van Neerven is one of Australia’s finest and most awarded writers. swim is their debut work for the stage, premiering at Carriageworks in July.

It is directed by Andrea James, Associate Artistic Director of Griffin Theatre Company, who joined 2SER Breakfast for a chat.
