Dora the Explorer Underwater Theme Park Rejected
Dora the Explorer, the American animated educational series has become a household staple for children to enjoy all over the world. Nickelodeon has proposed to build an underwater theme park dedicated to the show on Palawan Island, one of the most pristine and untouched islands in the Philippines. However, Philipines Environment Minister has recently claimed that the project will not be approved due to its threat to Palawan Island’s ecological environment. The question lies whether the United States can legally build an attraction on a foreign island and what environmental implications the constructioning of a 1,000 acre attraction would have on the island? The Daily’s Rod Chambers was joined by Professor Andrew Dutney, Academic Status in Theology at Flinders University to discuss why the Philippines Environment Minister made this claim.
