More Civil Societies: Circus politics

Julie Macken shows us how having an entertaining Parliament is actually more of a sign of dysfunction than constructiveness. Having access to our news and politics twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week makes politics more of a spectacle than it ever used to be. She argues that the National Party in particular, keeps failing the group it was set out to protect – the Farming Family, and the fact that saving the coal industry has come at the expense of it’s principles.
