Dance for Parkinson’s Australia: Bringing joy to those with Parkinson’s

Dance for Parkinson’s Australia is an organisation that offers dance classes for people with Parkinson’s disease across Australia. The Classes take place to help improve motor skills, like walking and fine hand movements. Dance teacher Erica Rose Jeffery says dance offers connection within the community with the physical activity being particularly beneficial to those with Parkinson’s. Although the class is not therapeutic in nature there has been improvements seen in walking, balance and fine motor skills.
