Death Doulas: The Future For End of Life

While doulas are known for their support during pregnancy, a new type of doula is on the rise for another purpose. In order to fill the gaps in our health and social care systems, a new model of care is emerging with death doulas at the forefront, in order to assist those nearing end of life.

This morning on Breakfast Tess was joined by Deb Rawlings, Lecturer in Palliative Care at Flinders University, to discuss her findings on the role of death doulas as an alternative to more traditional forms of care.
