Diabetes: Lets Dia – Beat – This!
HIV, Cancer or stroke – those seem like the big “monsters” threatening us. But did you know that diabetes is the fastest growing chronic condition in Australia and kills more people than breast, prostate and brain cancer combined. 280 people a day are diagnosed with diabetes in Australia and 1in 10 Australians die each year from diabetes related illnesses. At the moment it costs the Australian health care system $14b+ a year and that’s expected to rise to $30b+ by 2025. Angela Blair, Diabetes Educator from Diabetes NSW joined presenter Jamie Travers to tell us more.
