Dream State :: 8:00am 5th May 2024

Thank you for tuning into Dream State here on 2ser 107.3!

It was a little bit of a different show this week. I normally keep the interviews on the shorter side, but I made an exception this week for our guest. The exceptional Angie McMahon joined me in the studio this week. It was such an honour to have her in the studios to chat about her album, some of her favourite artists, and everything in between. You can listen to the whole chat here. I absolutely love having guests on the show, it really reminds me just how powerful radio can be in connecting people to artists and their music. I always leave these interviews giddy and yearning for more.

In terms of music, this week was a delight. Tried to catch up and play some of my favourite songs that got cut after last week’s episode didn’t go to air properly. I was feeling quite nostalgic this morning and decided on some dodie and The Moldy Peaches. I also stumbled across Beth Jackson in my inbox this week. I really love their stuff, and I’m super keen to see what’s coming next. As usual, went on a bit of a rant about Australian references in music and media, as inspired by Conversationalist by the lovely Isobel Knight. Something about walking down King Street being mentioned in a song makes me feel very seen. Let’s start normalising referencing places in Sydney in music all the time, please.
