Fast Fashion Isn’t All That Sustainable
Consumers are buying clothes at the cheapest value in a short amount of time. Doesn’t that sound exciting? This business model is called ‘fast fashion’. However, when consumers enjoy freshness and pleasure, they may not expect that such marketing methods can lead to a faster elimination of clothes, which will lead to a series of environmental problems.
The Daily was joined by Mark Liu, Research Fellow in Fashion and Textiles from the University of Technology Sydney to discuss sustainability issues in the fast fashion industry.
