Gadigal Ngura with Konstantina

We know a lot of people at 2SER, but not many of them are woodcarvers, painters, illustrators, or writers. Luckily, we had the chance to talk to someone that excels at all of those things!

Konstantina (Kate Constantine) is a proud Gadigal woman of the Eora nation and a neo-contemporary Indigenous artist, re-imagining the traditions of her peoples’ dot painters and providing a modern narrative for all Australians to better understand First Nations People as part of the fabric of Australia. In commemoration of the Gadigal people who have inspired her, Konstantina has written a book called Gadigal Ngura. It collects stories and research from Elders, Academics and others, and includes Gadigal language throughout. Konstantina joined us to talk more about her work and her new book.
