Get Away with Dre – Hunting Down Easter Long Weekend Activities

The Easter long weekend is upon us this time I’ve hunted down some family-friendly Easter activities around NSW.

Easter egg hunts

It’s not Easter with the kids without an Easter egg hunt.

Your local hot spot will usually throw an egg hunt, but if you wanna go BIG:

Hunter Valley Gardens, Pokolbin

The Giant Easter Egg Hunt is held on Friday 29th March and over the weekend. Brightly coloured eggs will be hidden throughout the Brumbies and Frog Pond Area, but if you find the golden egg your family wins an annual pass!

There’s a Junior Hunt for under the 6 year olds, and another for the under 15 year olds. There will be Easter activites and rides, and you won’t have to go far to hunt down good wine.

Glenworth Valley, Central Coast

The Glenworth Valley Outdoor Adventure will be hiding a lot of eggs – 25,000 eggs to be exact!

Held on Easter Sunday 31st March, they’ll have a jumping castle, petting zoo, horse and pony rides and food trucks.

Glenworth Valley Outdoor Adventures also have other activities on offer – kayaking, laser, quad biking and horse riding – so you can make the weekend of it.

Golden Ridge Animal Farm, Dural

The annual Egg Hunt is fully booked out Fri, Sat and Sun, but you can book for Thursday 28th April and Monday 1st April.

If your kids get distracted by cute animals, don’t expect them to win in the egg hunt, there’s a petting zoo with cute animals and the mini goats will definitely be a distraction.

Other activities include scarecrow stuffing, digger zones, pony rides, and milking a cow.

Easter egg hunts sorted! Where else can we go the kids go for some fun?

Some kids get to that age where they say they’re too old to do an egg hunt, so why not take them to an Easter High Tea?

Sir Stamford in Circular Quay hold their Mad Hatter Easter High Tea where they advise you to dress up. The Shangri-La Hotel also holds their Alice in Wonderland Easter High Tea.

Easter Markets

Moore Park

The Entertainment Quarter will have their Easter Market on Sunday 31st March, with more than 120 stalls and heaps of family activities.

Southern Highlands

Burrawang Easter Markets on Easter Sunday 31st March from 8am – 3pm will be 170 stalls on offer.

You can also check out other places in the Southern Highlands

  • Winery (Artemis wines, Centennial Vineyard)
