Fair Day, one of the most popular events in the Mardi Gras calendar has been cancelled by City of Sydney council after asbestos was found at the park hosting the event.

This follows closely of the discovery of asbestos in mulch at Campbelltown Hospital, a Liverpool Public School and the newly opened Rozelle Parklands, the latest evidence that contaminated materials are being moved around Sydney and NSW with no oversight.
