For many of us, the worst sound in the morning is the alarm clock, telling you it’s time to start the day even though your still asleep. This morning grogginess and lack of alertness is a physiological phenomenon called “sleep inertia”. If you’re a sufferer of this morning fog, fret not! The great minds from RMIT University may have a solution. Drive Presenter Beth Tracey spoke to Dr. Jair Garcia about his new study, which found how melodic alarm tones can help you be more alert in the morning.
