Heart station pop-ups funding cancer research

You’d be hard-pressed to find someone who hasn’t been affected by cancer. In 2012, Aussie actor Samuel Johnson founded charity Love Your Sister after his sister, Connie Johnson, was diagnosed with breast cancer. To date, the pair have raised much-needed awareness and over $4.5 million for cancer research.

As Connie enters the final stages of her cancer battle, Sydney-based artist and photographer Marie Ramos has decided to honour her with a ceramic artwork that will serve as a permanent exhibition at the Garvan Institute in Sydney. The artwork will be comprised of 2000 fingerprint hearts donated by Australians all over the country.

You can find out more about the project or how to donate a heart over on Marie’s website here.
