‘Heartless’ Heart Foundation Ad Campaign, But How Come?

You may have heard of the controversial ad campaign by the Heart Foundation not long ago. The campaign suggested that people who don’t look after their health don’t love their families—the heart symbolism is all there, though pretty insensitive. The ad has since been pulled due to social media backlash. However, the Heart Foundation did try justifying their ad campaign by saying they wanted to make a big statement about the importance of heart health.

The Daily spoke to Dr Stephanie Huang, Senior Lecturer of Marketing from Macquarie University about the controversial execution of what seems to be a genuine concern for heart health.
