How online forums are supporting people at risk of suicide and self-harm

The internet is often depicted in a harmful or negative light when we talk about mental health. But there’s good evidence it can actually help people cope with depression.

Research commissioned by beyondblue has found that online communities and forums provide hope and support to people who are experiencing depression, or who are at risk of self-harm or suicide. To find out more, Sam Baran had a chat with beyondblue’s lead clinical advisor, Dr Grant Blashki.
