In 2017 Australia became the final nation to legalise Hemp for human consumption. Until then, it had been used widely for skincare, vleaning, industrial manufacture and much more, however the health benefits of this Cannabis by-product are becoming known as the industry takes shape.

Daniel Elison sat down with Maya Levy, cafe owner who has begun creating and stocking hemp products. The “hipster approved” goods are very popular among younger people in her store, but she is committed to Hemp having a  bright future – going as far as predicting it replaces non-biodegradable plastic in manufacture!

In this interview Maya discusses how she discovered hemp, the kinds of food products she is testing, the difference between Cannabis and Hemp, and how she distinguishes the two for customers all day long, and the bright future she envisions for hemp.
