A Chinese researcher out of Southern University of Science and Technology in Shenzhen, China has recently created the first known instance of genetically edited twins to the dismay of much of the scientific community, with many saying this breaches ethical and scientific standards. But with all this talk what exactly is gene editing and why is this such a big deal? Dr Sergey Kurdyukov, Genome Editing Specialist at the School of Life and Environmental Sciences at Sydney university, joined us to discuss this topic.
