How far has medicine come in the last few hundred years? I bet you feel more comfortable going to the doctors now than you might, say in the early 20th century. But before doctors and nurses had huge advances in technology – they had other methods and tools to treat medical conditions.
These other methods are the focus of a new exhibit at the Powerhouse Museum: Recollect: Health & Medicine. The exhibition sees over 2,000 objects that were once used in medicine in Australia. The curator of the exhibition and former 2SER presenter Tilly Boleyn, joined Mitch in the studio.
