The CSIRO has recently released a new study outlining how Australia is poised to become a world leader in recycling Lithium-Ion Batteries.

This is significant as currently only 2% of Lithium-Ion Batteries are recycled – and the waste from their usage is growing at a rate exceeding 20 per cent a year as they are used in electric cars and solar technology.

Dr Anand Bhatt from the CSIRO joined Tess on 2SER Breakfast to discuss the implications of this new industry. The study can be read here.
