Location and Voice Technology: The Future of Retail?
Technology has greatly changed the way we shop, with online shopping and mobile-friendly retailers a norm in our modern world. To keep up with consumer demands, retailers are constantly trialling new technology— and it is predicted that location and voice technologies are the next big thing. Last month, Dan Murphy’s became the first Australian retailer to introduce micro-location technology that allows retailers to track their customers. The technology’s time-saving possibilities highlights retailers’ shifting focus to maximising speedy transactions, and its introduction marks a shift in Australia’s shopping habits.
