Meat Heaven at Lazar’s Butchery
On this episode of the Weekly Feed, Alison from B-Kyu took us on an imaginary tour of Lazar’s Butchery, an old-school Hungarian butchery in Petersham. It’s one out of a dwindling number of local butcheries still hanging on in Sydney, distinctive for the giant legs of prosciutto dangling from the ceiling in preparation for Christmas. All the meat is smoked in-house, and choice offerings include sausages, smoked ribs and pork crackling, perfect for soups or accompanied by a cold beer. The butchery even caters to the vegetarian crowd with jars of pickles and a delicious capsicum and eggplant spread.
