Meditation Apps – How and Why to Choose One

Mindfulness and meditation practices have been around for thousands of years. Over the last couple of decades they have made a significant leap into the mainstream, as testified by the plethora – around 2,000 – of meditation apps that are now available to download. What does meditation involve? What are the benefits and are apps an effective way to practice? If so, how might you go about choosing one? The Daily explored these questions with Laura Kampel – a PhD Candidate researching the popular meditation app Headspace at the Black Dog Institute and a qualified mindfulness instructor with 25 years’ experience as a clinical psychologist.
