New workplace model to tackle employee burnout

Many of us experience stress, particularly from work overload. But when its prolonged, this can cause complete physical or mental exhaustion. What’s been termed by health experts as ‘burn out’ can lead to a range of symptoms from headaches and stomach upsets to diminished motivation.
A new model designed by researchers from the University of Queensland aims to tackle employee burnout. The SMART Work Design Model focuses on five key work design characteristics, aimed at helping organisations create healthier work environments and improve employee well-being.
