‘Art for Survival’
New World Daughter were brought together by the Covid-19 Pandemic and the devastating challenges to immune compromised Artists in so called Australia. This vivacious duo create conceptual work that incorporates performance, photography, video, music, voice and sound, drawing, painting, costuming and more. They often make dreamlike surrealist works that weave histories with new futures.
Self described as gender non conforming, queer, disabled and First Nations women who are artists. On Tuesday’s Breakfast we introduce Yuin Elder Bianca Willoughby and Wiradjuri woman Willurai Kirkbright-Burney who also known as New World Daughter.
‘But I’m a Blak Cheerleader’ exhibition at Nano Gallery, Join the Dots, Marrckville, Friday 8th and Saturday 9th July.
