Obesity rates set to rise exponentially by 2025
Obesity is on the rise and recent modelling predicts that the amount of people considered as ‘obese’ may outweigh the healthy within the next decade. The prevalence of obesity is predicted to increase from 28% to 35% by 2025. Researchers from the University of Sydney’s Charles Perkins Centre also anticipate as many as 1 in 6 women and 1 in 10 men to be severely obese within the decade. Lead researcher, Dr. Alison Hayes chats to Nic about her findings and what we can do to solve the problem.
