Playlunch: The Goon Bag of Aussie Music

Do you remember when playing handball with your friends and watching Kath and Kim each night was a fixed part of your daily schedule? Well, Naarm based band Playlunch are working overtime to bring that strong sense of early 2000’s – late 90’s Aussie culture back into the Australian music scene.

By integrating schoolhouse chants and “No hat, no play” bucket hats into their shows, Playlunch brings back memories of when life was that much simpler.

Liam Bell, the lead vocalist and brainchild of Playlunch discusses the importance of nostalgia coming out of covid, as well as his interpretation of the genre, ‘Bogan funk’.
