Raising awareness of dystonia
Dystonia affects over 8000 people in Australia but awareness of the disorder is quite low. The condition affects the muscles with involuntary spasms that can cause pain for the individual.
Lily Cardis spoke to Lee Pagan, a former school teacher who had cut her career short. She helps manage the Australian Dystonia Support Group Facebook page.
Ryan Flinn travelled over 5,500km from Perth to Sydney raise awareness and funds for the disorder which his mum suffers from.
It doesn’t have a cure yet, but with funds and awareness Ryan hopes he can help the cause.
