Australians throw away $8 billion dollars worth of food every year. Too Tasty to Throw is an app designed to minimize those food waste while making healthy eating more affordable.
The app allows restaurants and cafes to put up unsold food at the end of the day at a discount—letting environmentally thrifty customers buy affordable, healthy foods.
Co-founder Megan Rohleder came up with the idea while working at a bakery in the UK, which throws away piles of unsold food at the end of the day.
