Spring has sprung and for many of us, that means life is blooming. But for farmers, crops are ripening throughout the year and harvest workers are often required to step in. But when COVID shut international and state borders, the industry was suddenly 26,000 workers short and tens of millions of dollars in crops have since gone to waste.
2SER Breakfast’s Jarred Cross was joined by NSW Farmers’ Vice President Xavier Martin to learn how the organisation’s newly unveiled 10-point-plan will address the current shortcomings of attracting domestic and international workers.
