The unique success story of the Metro Cinema in Kings Cross is most certainly one of those places with memories that are at the heart of Australian movie culture. The building is very popular with local residents due to its distinct character. City of Sydney councilor Kerryn Phelps has started a motion to insure the future of the building is safeguarded and put on the State Heritage Register.
