Scrutiny over Food Insecurity for Australian Kids
With 2SER’s spotlight on teachers and the Australian education system as a whole entering it’s final day, it’s time to talk tuck shop, or lack of it.
Earlier this year, Australia’s largest hunger relief organisation Foodbank revealed that more than 1 in 5 Australian children have experienced food insecurity in the last year. With children going to school each day without breakfast or a packed lunch, it’s not hard to imagine that this is having a big impact on their well being and ability to learn.
