22 years of the Static Listeners’ Poll

With 2SER’s new music program “Static”celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2022 – and this year’s Listeners’ Poll now open (get your votes in by 29th November!) – here’s a look back at the past 22 years of Top Tens in the ballot.

Possibly the best way to take the listening temperature each year of the 2SER audience, the “Static” Listeners’ Poll over the past couple of decades reflects constant changes in musical genres and careers,  as much as progressions in fans’ tastes and attitudes.

Who remembers that Grandaddy placed two consecutive albums in the pole position?
O that the first female-artist on top wasn’t until PJ Harvey in 2011?
Or even that the first Australian-artist number one didn’t happen until Tame Impala in 2012?
