In February 2024, an event was set up at the Box Hub Warehouse in Glasgow. Named Willy’s Chocolate Experience, this royalty free Willy Wonka inspired event advertised “enigmic sounds” and “sweet teats” for all the little boys and girls who wanted to come and experience a world of pure imagination.

Instead, they got an empty warehouse with cheap, undersized props, half a cup of jellybeans delivered by an Oompa Loompa who didn’t want to be there, and a rival chocolate maker who lived in the walls.
