Tensions Rising in the Persian Gulf
The president of Iran, Hassan Rouhani has warned world leaders that security in the Persian Gulf could collapse quickly ‘in a single moment’.
In a speech at the UN general assembly, Mr Rouhani accused the US of engaging in “merciless economic terrorism” against his country, opposing harsh oil-related sanctions the US have imposed on Iran in recent times.
Tensions are rising in the Persian Gulf, and to give us more information on the political climate of the region we interviewed Dr Ben Rich, Lecturer in International Relations and Security Studies at Curtin University.
