The Butterfly Ultrasound Technology to Reinvent Medical Practice

New ultrasound technology has emerged that could reinvent health practice. The Butterfly is being trialed at the Royal Melbourne hospital, and has the ability to bring ultrasound technology to patients’ bedsides without the need of the patient to move to specialist rooms. The hospital, along with the University of Melbourne, has begun using the Butterfly tool, a small handheld ultrasound device which provides images instantaneously on a connected smartphone.

Today we had a chat to Kerry Lewin, Sonographer at the Sydney Adventist Hospital about this emerging technology.
