The legacy of Scott Walker
On Monday evening, we heard the news that Scott Walker, the singer and composer, had died at the age of 76.
Walker lived a fascinating life, beginning as a pop star in America with his group the Walker Brothers and his solo albums, before deciding at 25 to study Gregorian chant in monastery, then moving to England to create abstract and challenging works later in life.
To discuss Walker’s life and legacy, The Daily‘s Victor Petrovic was joined by John Willsteed, Senior Lecturer of Music at Queensland University of Technology and former bassist for The Go-Betweens.
