This year, Melbourne University Press has been publishing a series of essays by some of Australia’s top thinkers on the big issues in our society. The latest; ‘On Hate’ by Tim Soutphommasane, examines how hate manifests itself as social boundaries are pushed by “cultural extremism”
From 2013 to 2018 Tim was the Race Discrimination Commissioner for Australia’s Human Rights commission, and ‘On Hate’ explores his time as commissioner and the growth of racial hatred both in Australia and around the world.
