A new research conducted by Monash University is studying how voice-assisted technology can help people with speech difficulties, particularly people diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

The study has been previously done in England, and it’s been replicated in Australia. While there are no comparative numbers in the research, it will give an insight on how these devices improve the quality of life of those affected when a speech therapist is not available.

Only 59% of people living with Parkinson’s disease in Australia have regular contact with a speech therapist.
