Weekend Event Guide: 20 January 2018

Summer at Darling Harbour

Make the most of summer at Darling Harbour. Take in the summer air as you cruise around Cockle Bay on a pedal boat. Or simply sit back and relax as you take in the view from the Star of the Show Ferris Wheel. There’s plenty to keep the kids entertained with the Night Owls outdoor cinema playing all your family’s favourite box office hits. There’s also the Arctic Voices exhibition where you can venture through a frozen wilderness. Celebrate Australia Day with The Wiggles, plus live performances by Furnace and The Fundamentals.

Symphony Under the Stars

One of the most well-loved Sydney Festival events returns to Parramatta. It’s the perfect evening for families and friends to pack a hamper, grab a blanket, and settle back in a Sydney summer dusk to enjoy beautiful music. This FREE concert is always one of the most anticipated events of the Sydney Festival and 2018 promises to be no exception. Returning to the gorgeous surrounds of Parramatta Park, the Sydney Symphony Orchestra will perform a selection of beloved classical and contemporary compositions as part of The Crescent Summer Series.

Sex, death & chocolate meditationThree guided meditations that will change your life.

This workshop is fun and happy. The meditations are exciting and different to your average obligatory meditation at the end of a yoga class. Mindfulness meditation for more focus, less stress and even better sex. Death meditation for revealing your true identity. Chocolate meditation for finding joy through intense awareness. Meditate with Camille, a friendly meditation teacher. You will be comfortable and feel welcome in the Ultimo studio with chairs, cushions and cosiness. Will we be meditating non-stop for 2 hours? No, we will have breaks, chats and snacks. Sit back, relax and enjoy this exciting meditation journey.
