Young Australians Concerned About Loneliness

A new report about the impacts of loneliness on young people across the country finds more than half (57%) of young people are concerned, stressed or worried about feeling lonely.

The new report is based on a national survey by ReachOut of over 660 young people aged 16 – 25 years. Of the respondents who indicated loneliness was among their top concerns, 82% reported that loneliness was having a moderate to major impact on their mental health.

The report also reveals this is prevalent among young people particularly within regional and remote communities, as well as within the LGBTQIA+ community.
