Chatbot Helps Patients and Families with Medical Info

The CSIRO and other members of the Melbourne Genomics Health Alliance have created a chatbot that is trained to help patients make difficult medical decisions. The chatbot is called Edna, which stands for Electronic DNA. Edna is aimed to provide support for patients who need to make choices about medical tests that can have major implications for them and their families. Edna’s main advantage is accessibility, providing support for those living remotely or unable to attend face to face counselling.

We were joined by Dr Dana Bradford from the CSIRO to discuss.
